A PERSONAL NOTE FROM ME ABOUT THIS EPISODE
This is a picture of me in New York City, performing on the Jacob Javits Center stage – in front of a massive audience!
I felt confident.
I felt free.
And I had no problem delivering a message in front of so many people.
I was even happy with what I was wearing!
And let me tell you – it wasn’t always like that for me.
Even though I have the ability to talk in front of people WITHOUT nerves taking over – there were many, many times when I felt insecure about my clothes.
What does a female Christian rapper look like?
“I’m performing at another Christian event – what should I wear?!”
“I’m performing at another secular event – what should I wear on stage?”
“I’m performing at a women’s conference – WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON STAGE?”
At almost ALL of my performances, no matter what kind of event I was invited to – those were my thoughts.
Have you ever struggled with that?
Was there ever a time in your life when you couldn’t figure out what your personal style was?
When you’re called to present a message in front of a crowd of people that you don’t know, I have to be honest…
The way you PRESENT YOURSELF comes first.
The way you present yourself in front of potential clients does matter. (HIGHLIGHT & TWEET THAT SENTENCE)
